Child Care and Early Education

Early Head Start - Acelero (Clark)

Early Head Start are federally funded programs that promote the school readiness of young children from low-income families. Early Head Start typically serves pregnant women and children from birth to age three. Head Start serves children aged three to five years old. Both programs emphasize a holistic approach, considering not only the educational needs of children but also their health, nutrition, and family support to ensure a well-rounded foundation for learning and growth. Acelero Learning - Clark County is one of the largest Head Start providers in the state of Nevada and is the only provider of Head Start services in the city of Las Vegas. Acelero Head Start offers:

  • Six hours of Head Start services featuring highly-qualified teachers in all classrooms.
  • A Family Advocate who works with parents and caregivers to identify and meet goals.
  • Ability to combine Head Start services with child care for families who need full-day care due to work/school, so you can --drop off your child as early as 7:30 AM and pick up your child as late as 6:00 PM.
  • Center activities, including ESL classes, safety workshops, SNAP workshops, WIC information sessions, kindergarten transition support, Achievement Gap workshops, and other family activities
  • FREE state voucher for an Extended Day Program for families who qualify (five centers provide Extended Day services).
