Child Care and Early Education

Head Start - Migrant Head Start Program (Centro de la Familia de Utah)

Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded programs that promote the school readiness of young children from low-income families. Early Head Start typically serves pregnant women and children from birth to age three. Head Start serves children aged three to five years old. Both programs emphasize a holistic approach, considering not only the educational needs of children but also their health, nutrition, and family support to ensure a well-rounded foundation for learning and growth.

Centro’s approach to early child development considers parent engagement critical  in a child’s education. Their high-quality services include full-day center-based care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, bilingual English/Spanish classrooms, nutritious meals, transportation across Utah, Nevada, and selected Colorado locations, and a qualified teaching staff using a nationally recognized curriculum. Serving over 700 Early Head Start and Head Start children annually, Centro reaches a diverse demographic in both rural and urban areas of these states.
